Preparing for a trip to London

Finally!

After having completed (and hopefully passed) my very last exams I`m heading to England, London, today! I didn’t have much time to pack, so I hope I brought everything and oh well, as long as I have my passport, debit card and camera, I`m sure I`ll be fine.

I will be leaving in about 5 hours by plane. Of course I do have to stop by Starbucks at Schiphol Airport, so I`ll probably be there a few hours in advance. That’s something I`m really looking forward to… a Starbucks on almost every corner of the street! Just like last time I`m planning to eat my breakfast there every day. It`s nice to watch businessmen and women pass by in a hurry, looking either angry, sad or happy to go to work again. It`s even more fun to realize that that day I won`t be among those people hurrying, stressing out, walking in the rain, trying to catch a bus which is overly crowded with other early commuters. No, not that day, that day I`ll be watching others from my favourite red chair/couch in Starbucks. Probably accompanied by a tall skinny cappuccino and a skinny blueberry muffin (hey, no point adding extra calories when the drink tastes fine just the same).

Why am I going to London? Well, why wouldn`t I? :) No seriously, business brings me to London, which is the first time I can actually say that about a city trip `oh I`m here on business`. That`s kinda cool. And aside from that, I`m planning to explore an alternative aspect of London. How exactly that`s going to work out I don`t know yet. It`s just that I`ve already seen most of the major tourist attractions. I`ve been to the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, made night walks along the Thames, shopped in Oxford Street and visited the many museums. So this time I also want to go to a little bit more pubs, mingle a lot more with the locals, visit smaller markets, museums and places and such. Will see how that`ll work out.

Good, I have to go catch my train. See you in London!
